Stress and other developments.

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 7, 2008, 10:44 AM

.Stress.

Ok, so I'll finally come out with it. Yes I'm stressing at the moment. Very heavily indeed. Yes I know its not a good thing, but I apologise for not really having a choice in the matter. The stress springs from a combination of my job, work at college, worry about upcoming results for my second year final exams, studying for my MBA entrance classes and giving a mock exam every weekend. I mean there's only so much my body can take.

I don't usually like to publicly rant like this, but I'm saying all this becuse I'd like to apologise to all the people I've been unwittingly rude/scathing to lately. I don't mean all the horid things I've said, and I don't mean to ignore anyone. I've just been too caught up trying to pull my life back together and keep it in control. And when I'm like that, more often that not I need to be left alone. So if I've neglected you in any way, I'm extremely sorry but it was due to sheer necessity. You may note that this state is probably going to last till the end of NOVEMBER AT THE VERY LEAST. If you can't deal with that then there's nothing I can do, because I need to get on with my life. This is a crucial year for me and I can't afford to let anything/anyone come in the way of my dreams.

.Writings.

Another thing I need to apologise for the lack of lately, is my writing. To all my faithful watchers who always drop by and take the time out to comment or give me a favourite - you people are one of the reason I so strive to improve my writing. Lately due to lack of time, inspiration and energy I haven't written much. I have put up one deviation at the moment, as an offering, with more to come later. (Hopefully!)

Also, I have left DailyDeviants, owing to too much work on hand. Admittedly my six month stint with them was fantastic and I'm sorry it had to come to an end so soon, but thats how life is =/

.Many Thanks.

I'd like to thank the following people for their unconditional support and love. You all of you mean a lot to me - more than you could possibly know. In no particular order:

Melancholy and a ghost story...

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 26, 2008, 2:14 PM

My exams are FINALLY over, and I want to make this one last journal entry before my sub dies XD (It's 8 PM and the sub dies at 9:45). For those who'd like to know, the exams went off well enough and I only slightly mucked up in one paper. Now checking exmaination papers here is pretty arbitrary. Papers from each college are brought to one centre in DU where teachers check. So you dunno who's gonna check your paper - Therefore you might have written crap, or pure genius, it depends on the mood your examiner will be in for the marks you shall get. So I need a favour. For all those of you not atheists, I'd be grateful if you could pray for me for the next 3 months or so (results usually come out end of July here)

Moving on to less boring topics, my dad bought me a few books recently, of which one is one is tales of the Supernatural in INDIA. Meaning tales of superstistions and ghosts and monsters HERE. I was obviously intrigued. There's one story in particular that I read that creeped me out thoroughly, but one I enjoyed as well because its was brilliantly written. I'd like to share it here with you all:

The Auto Ride

Jagdish's auto-rickshaw was parked at its usual place. The lights from the Lighthouse twinkled as he sipped his second cup of tea that night.

"Jaggubhai, I am off. Still waiting for your first customer?" It was the concierge who stood outside the Lighthouse, a well known nightclub in a Mumbai suburb, packing up for the day. Jagdish waved back. He decided that he would wait another half-hour outside the club and then move off elsewhere to look for customers.

But her was in luck. A Young woman in her late twenties walked up to himasking to be taken to Andheri, a suburb in western Mumbai. A flick of his head to indicate a yes and Jagdish was ready to roll. He had barely started when he saw another woman , around the same age as his passengerwaving her arms at him.

"What luck, two together!" Jagdish heard the beggar sprawled acros the pavement mutter. He glared at him as he ran his fingers through his hair to fluff it up like a hero ina hindi movie. "Do you mind miss, if I am taking another customer too?" Jagdish said in a language that he hoped to master someday. The passenger did not object to sharing the journey and soon Jagdish was off, chugging into the night across the roads that he had grown up on.

"I am asking full fare. No halfing, madam," Jagdish told the two of them.
"That is cheating. You should have told us before," one of the women objected.

But Jagdish's swagger won him the argument and the women agreed to pay him what he wanted. In about fifteen minutes, Jagdish screeched his auto a halt in front of Bandra lake. This was where one of his passengers was to get off. "Rs. 52.50" Jagdish told her. The woman argued a bit. But when she saw that Jagdish was not about to relent, she took out her wallet.

And then, strangely, without waiting for the money, Jagdish started his auto and fled into the night. His hair standing on end and his face a shade of white, Jagdish kept muttering, "Hai Ganarya! Hai vitha! Hai Deva!"

"What happened? You did not take any money from her. And what are you muttering?" asked the passenger who was still with him.

"Baap re! You not seeing what I see. God, save me, that is no woman. Her feet are not like ours," jagdish stammered and stuttered. Fear had clamped his hand its Jagdish's throat and his words came out in a whisper.

*My note: Here in India, superstition says witches have feet that are turned inside or are back to front. It's how one distinguishes between a normal woman and a witch. Getting back to the story...*

He stopped his auto at the side of the road to drink some water. "Her feet. All wrong. Ulta (wrong/opposite)like a bhootni (witch)," he told her between gasps and gulps of water.

"You mean something like this?" she said with a smile.

Enjoyed that? ;) Do lemme know! Oh and I didn't write that lol.

As for life at the moment, I'd like to thank ~xaldien (Dan), @limetastic (Alicia) and =Isvarmt (Kristina) for being such fantastic friends.

For those who didn't get the above exchange, it probably wasn't meant for you ;P

EDIT: Problem has been sorted, so not to worry. Though essentially I am quite the idiot for doubting him ._. and I'm sorry I did it *sigh*

EDIT 2: Everyone please go kick/hug/kiss *GaioumonBatou please! He's bought me a one month sub =P...the silly but lovable twat!

EDIT 3: *Boxymoron is random and amazing. Go see for yourself :slow:

Head Over Heels in Fun!

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 3, 2008, 7:47 AM

I know this is much earlier than the usual almost monthly update, but much has happened in the last week /2 weeks, and I feel like pimping more people so you'll just have to bear with my idiosyncrasies :giggle:

SO much has happened with me this week, and mainly awesome stuff at that. In fact its gone up to the extent of making me worry that something bad might be following at its heels :fear: I hope to God that doesn't happen!

Now If you're a member of the literature community here on dA, you'll know ^StJoan has been asking people to feature some of their favourite pieces in their journals, and thus encourage the reading of more literature here on dA. I won't feature pieces, I'll be featuring artists who've done a great deal, are very talented, and have contributed a lot to the community. So here goes!

:iconsting1:@Sting1
This fellow is one of the mn@ that haunt chatrooms and forums and stalk you when you're not looking. His own gallery is quite cool, with my favourite piece being 'The Tear' on which I'd even written a poem. Dealing with all kinds of photography I think we can afford to say he's an expert at what he does  His latest deviation 'A Bicycle in Munich' is softly done and shows you just how much experimentation he's able to play with and succeed. Do drop by his profile and see for yourself, he may seem mean but he really isn't!

:iconlockjavv:*lockjavv
He's the one to go drool over if the CSS on my journal knocked you over :) It fitted my theme of dragons and lots of red and black PERFECTLY, and caused me to get quite excited and run around through all of his gallery. If you do the same you'll note this isn't the only awesome CSS he's made, and you could possibly send hours gawping at the other pretty designs he has! And his use of colours? :faint: I'd very much recommend you dropping by there :D

:iconwen-m:*Wen-M
I am quite sure most of you reading this journal already have this fellow on your watchlist. If you don't, THEN WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THIS WHILE?! With art to die for, all I can do is gush about his artwork. His fanbase is probably one of the biggest on dA. That should tell you exactly how good he is. My particular favourites in his gallery? The angels he's made. His imagination and artistic eye/flair for colour and design could keep me going on and on. Go see for yourself!

Lastly, could you please do me a small favour and help out my awesome editor *NobodysSon? He's managed to make it to the finals at *deviantSPOTLIGHT, and the top two winners then get a 1 year sub each! I say he deserves it, so could you be nice enough to spare a few minutes of your time and vote for him on the poll there? It would mean much to me and I'd really appreciate it  Do spread the word!

Yes I know you don't want read anymore nonsense here anymore, so I'm letting you off. If you have nothing better to do, take a look through my gallery, you might find something that interests you!

Till then, Adios Amigos!

EDITORS: :heart::iconericwilding::iconnobodysson::heart: I wub these guys! :D

EDIT: I've added a poll, and I need the feedback. Take two minutes to answer it? I'd be very obliged, thanks!
